For most cars it does.what is the capacity then?

I was led to believe the tank capacity is 60 litres but shows empty after 40 litres to prevent fuel stavation when driven on the track. This does seem to fit with my car.
Dave
Only on the later cars, at empty you have about 20 litres left, on earlier cars at empty, you are out of fuel, the reason for the change was so that the car did not go lean on bends on track. Dave

I don't really care, even with today's fuel prices, how much it's costing me because I can afford it. I just wanted to know for comparison.

Sorry to ask such novice questions but does the noble have a petrol light? Any 1 know how big the fuel tank and what mileage do you get to a full tank??
All I no is mine is juicier than my old rs6?!?!
Pressing the accelerator pedal is addictive and the cars can be a bit thirsty when giving it some welly. All I no is mine is juicier than my old rs6?!?!
The tank is longer vertically than it is wide, so the arm length on the sender is restricted by the width, the sender is top mounted so when the arm is fully down "showing empty" there is actually 20 litres left in the tank.
As Urb says the tank is half full when its reading a quarter of a tank... the last 20litres do not register on the guage, bit of a stupid design as thats 30+kgs extra thats being carried around.... I've redesigned my tank and fuel system so that I can safely use all the fuel in the tank.
I have averaged 30mpg in my car in the 35k miles I have done and get 240miles before it gets to the quarter of tank mark... even when it was running 480bhp it still did over 30mpg on the way back from le-mans last year.... it does depend how much you use the car though, if you only use it for short trips it uses a lot of fuel warming up etc so mpg drops a lot.
