Clutch slipping :(
Discussion
Couple of questions for those in the know,
My clutch slips quite bad when driving hard out of roundabouts, I could smell it today, so my dilemma is do I change it before silverstone. What is the turnaroun time from sending the clutch off to helix? When pulling the engine, any thing I should know, should I undo turbos or exhaust,.? All the bolts are in good condition as the engine was out 10 months ago!
Any one got a engine crain I could borrow /hire?
Thanks Paul

what power is the car ?
can you turn the boost down a little ?
Cars 498hp (noble motorsport). When I floor it, the boost gage goes to just over 1 bar, that's when it slips, then drops back slightly to 1 bar.can you turn the boost down a little ?
Isn't turning down the boost just putting of the inevitable, what plate would you guys recommend?
A reduction in boost would probably get you through the summer with no issues , think the best plate is a organic plate but again dave at Jetstream should be able to advise , STD clutch is only good for 420lbft of torque max any idea hoe much you are running ?? Could get Trevor to remapp with a bit less torque as it's this that kills the gearboxes and clutches !!!!

Thanks Simon. I don't know what the torque is, but it must be up there. I'll give jetstream a bell tomorrow, (see if they have one on the shelf) if I could do the job in three days I might go for it, i hate things that arnt quite right!TuxMan said:
Hi mate , has the gearbox been uprated ?? If not it will be worth getting it sorted at the amount of torque you are running will give it a hard time !!!!
Yes all done before I got it, can't understand why they didn't upgrade to helix. The AP unit has only done 800 miles!Gassing Station | Noble | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
