Ok well I'll answer my own question I used standard 4mm E clips but will replace with an s/s version if I can find any, as these will rot like whatever was on there in the first place.
When I went to test drive mine before I bought it, the rear actuator arm was off, (seller didn't notice), I had to fix it with a paper clip before I drove it? Not suggesting that as a suitable solution BTW
