Only just noticed but when I start the car from cold the pressure is top of the dial 80psi odd?! After 5 mins it chills out and goes back to the middle of the dial? Is this normal??

Is for me!

My oil pressure works fine but the oil temp doesn't work at all. Is this an easy problem to sort out?

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers.

Chris.

Hi Niccy , yep fine due to the oil being a bit thicker because its cold , as the oil temp comes up it thins dropping pressure down .

Yep its totally normal for it to be at a high PSI when the engine is cold. Tux is right. The oil is dense when cold so the pump needs to work harder. I get a reading of around 12PSI when the oil has warmed up to a temperature of around 80degrees. IMO you shouldnt rev the engine over 3,000rpm until the oil has warmed up to at least 60degrees.
