Any comments on the real world differences between the “older school batteries used in the Long range versus the newer LFP batteries in the standard model, standard models are available with short delivery times and a useful reduction in costs?

In reality not likely to do many 250 mile trips without a stop.

Other than range:

LR is quicker and has more kit.

Haven't driven the Y, but in the 3, the extra weight of the motor up front helped balance out the front suspension and made it less crashy.


On the battery side:

SR+ uses LFP which are less energy dense (so range/weight is worse)

NCM like the cold better than LFP. (lose less range in winter)

LFP can handle about 50% more cycles than NCM.

Basically test drive both and see which you prefer.
