Apparently Tesla has just had 100GB of data pertaining to 4,000 complaints about autopilot leaked to a German newspaper. Will this be another diesel gate tier scandal?

There have been quite a few stories about Tesla's illegal data collection. If customers still buy the cars do they deserve any sympathy considering how blatant they been with flouting data protection laws?

Musk is probably the least ethical person in the Industry, well behind VW TBH. The customers can't really moan, it is part of the "ownership experience ".

This was from 2020, there has always been very odd reasons for data collection at the scale they do.

""Consequently, it seems questionable whether Tesla’s vehicles should be allowed on European roads at all.""

I don't think whistle-blowers do it for money and you link is all SEC and pharma.

Can't say I'm surprised the autopilot has been absolutely terrible from day one and regularly quite dangerous.

I have always been surprised that there hasn't been a huge amount of complaints. Especially when he has been selling full self driving capability as option for over a decade then simply not delivering it. How AP1 users haven't sued them to death is surprising.

The whole system has been on sale as a Beta system forever.

I always thought it was just me who thought it was st.

Wow, I just came across this topic again, and it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. If the information about those 4,000 complaints regarding Autopilot is real, something serious might be coming. I read in this article from a law firm’s site that in such cases, whistleblowers can get legal protection and even rewards - especially when public companies like Tesla are involved.
