Need to order a charging cable before our Model 3 arrives.

Going to need to be quite a long one, 10 metres minimum but realistically 15 metres.

I take it its worth paying the extra for the one with the Tesla button, given the extra functionality you get?

Found this one but pricey at £349.99 for the 15m length with the Tesla Command Button.

Or just get a regular cable and save yourself some money for the sake of a button?

Had our Tesla MY also most 2 years now and never had an issue using the app or using the rear left door handle to unlock the charging port.

My understanding was that the button saved you having to faff about in the app. Didnt know the rear left door handle unlocked the charging port (still on the learning curve).

Scenario will likely be - wife drives car, wife brings car home and parks up, i go out and connect car up to charge overnight. Following morning, i go out and disconnect car.

I want that to be as hassle free as possible - particularly when its pissing down with rain, hence my question RE: the button.

It doesn't for me. But, opening any door to unlock the car and prodding the charge flap works fine.

if it's horrible out I tend to unlock the port before I go out, sometimes open the boot too then it just a case of removing the cable and chucking it in the underfloor storage.

It's your money but for £200+ it seems a bit pricey, you'll be outside for about 60 seconds, 120 max.

Its £87 more than the one you linked to without the button.

Just trying to weigh up if its worth the extra spend.

I'd just get the one without the button, if it was £10-20 then that's different but £87s a bit much. As has been mentioned, you can hold the rear passenger door handle for 3 seconds and it will unlock the port but this is a PITA IMO as you have to open and close the door as you can't just release the handle as the door is open. This was a workaround as they tried to save a few pence by not having a button next to the charger that would release if the key was nearby. Personally I have the watch app and when you open it there is a charging icon in the corner that you can tap for it to unlock.

I have one of these on a hook by the front door. Works fine to open the flap
