Thought I'd add my 2p worth on a Model Y I test drove today.

The car is a Long range dual motor. The Tesla test drive system is great. The car was parked near a local hotel and nobody was there at all, I just walked up to the car and using my phone unlocked it.

Very smooth to drive, the regen on the breaking is quite strong though I worked out how to turn this down and the ride was smoother. The lack of buttons is a tad confusing but I guess you would get used to it in the end.

Acceleration is rapid!
Only thing I wasn't keen on was the lack of a blind on the sun glass. I believe these can be added on.

The rear seats are quite low and my young son couldnt see over the door and felt a bit travel sick but I'm guessing they are lower to accommodate taller people.

All in all a lovely car.

We test drove a Model 3 the same way, simple and easy.

Can you turn the regen down on the newer model? I've got the first generation Y and I don't think you can but I've always treated the accelerator like a variable function it's supposed to be (not on or off as so many others seem to drive) so it's never caused me any issues.

Yes there were 2 settings can't think what it was called. When it was on the firmer setting I actually felt mildly car sick myself so wondered if it was worse for my son in the back. Though after a short while of driving I worked out that you can come up to a set of traffic lights and work out when to take your foot off the accelerator, which is pretty much just a few feet of the white line!

Chill mode makes all the difference, makes the drive much smoother.

I didn't realise they had the self test drive option here. I've often wondered what the T&Cs are, such as insurance excess etc.?
