Hi all,

I've had 26k out of the Michelin PS5 EV tyres and need to change, any experience of

Yokohama Advan Sport EV V108A

Hankook iON evo SUV

The Hankook is slightly more expensive but has reviewed well.

I got 40k miles out of Bridgestone Turanza T005 tyres. When replacing them recently I went for the same tyre. No noise issues, seem to handle well. Mine are 19” and I paid £820 for a set of 4 fitted from kwikfit.

The only issue is that they don’t cover the very edge of the alloy. In 4 years and 78k miles I hav'nt kerbed them yet. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that wink

We like our Hankook ION EVO SUV tires, which replaced our Genesis GV60P’s OEM Michelin Primacy tires.

One thing to check before ordering: Confirm that the tread width of the Hankook is the same as your OEM tires. Not “section width” in MM, but the actual tread width.

I initially replaced the Michelin PS4S tires on my Model 3 Performance with another set of Ion EVO tires (not the SUV version), but despite the Hankooks being the same 235/35/20 spec, the actual tire was about 1/2” narrower than the Michelins, exposing way too much of the alloy wheel edge to potential damage. I rejected them once they were on the car and replaced them with a Yokohama.

That's good to know as I have the 20" wheels too.

Just checked this morning and Black Circles have the Michelin PS5 for £213 fitted each and I know they fit the rim correctly..seems a no-brainer at that price..

You’ll never go too far wrong with Michelin tires, in my experience.

Even the cost of the Primacy tires that were replaced by the Hankooks was covered by Michelin’s customer care policy.

Got about 25k out of the rears (Hankook Ventus S1evo3) on my RWD before a puncture in one meant both got replaced before the limits - they probably had 5k miles left on them. The fronts are still original at 36k but nearing the end.
