Just wondering if anybody has a RAV4 new shape, and what spec? We are tempted after hearing good things and needing a bigger car, one thing that Id like to know is what the dash is made from on different specs or if they are all the same? Also what kind of MPG do you get? We like in the hills and our GLA180 is atrocious only getting 28mpg which just seems to cost a fortune in petrol!

My mum has one which I’ve been using a lot since selling my car.

To simply put it, it’s a fantastic car, extremely comfortable, quiet and economical, 500+ miles to a tank.

I’ve set the MPG up to start and end after each trip and I never see less than 40 and I have a heavy foot. In traffic jams it does 80+ and in long hilly roads, it also does 80+ as you’re coasting most of the way.

Motorway, it depends on what kind of driving, If you go above 70, to 80-90, the mpg does drop a bit but as I said I’ve never seen it go lower than 40.

Spec wise, I think they’re all the same dashboard and infotainment wise apart from the icon which doesn’t have satnav but has the same size screen. My mum has the dynamic model which has the sportier half leather (vinyl) seats which are comfortable. It also has the arches in gloss black along with the roof. It makes the car look a lot more modern as the non dynamic models have the arches in that plastyicy matte black.

Let me also say that it’s very powerful and handles well for a car of its type.

All in all, it’s so good, my sister in law is giving her leased A200d back early (paying a penalty) and she’s ordered the new RAV4 black edition which is coming in September. She’s also buying it, bank loan, to pay it off because it’s will be a keeper.

Best of luck

My auld man just ordered a new one last week. Estimated 19 weeks wait.
Both parents loved the test drive, so easy to drive.
They think it’s a keeper as well.

They were going for the black edition but dad wanted the skyview roof which isn’t available on the black edition, so ordered the dynamic 2WD with premium pack (Skyview, JBL System & PVM) in decimal grey.

I'm hugely impressed with ours, even if it isn't the hybrid. The only real complaint I can level at it is that the engine sounds labored and crude when under load, but it's still refined at speed. It's a very impressive vehicle. And in our case, very, very, very blue.

Ours (my wife’s main car) is an August 2020 Excel. Hybrid 4WD.

We specced it up a fair bit & think it’s brilliant. Only did 2350 miles in the first 12 months where usually, her cars do up to 15k.

Now really starting to use it. For boring motorway stuff, the autonomous driving tech is excellent.

Cross country (did Swansea to Liverpool & return through Wales over 2 days), it really surprised me. I’d almost call it fun in sports mode. Lights are fantastic, cabin is great, seats lovely etc.

On the negative list. Steering is zero feel. Nav is useless (waze via CarPlay is brill), wireless CarPlay would be better & why they don’t fit a wireless charge pad for the U.K. market is beyond me.

High 40’s mpg is easily achievable in the summer. Low 40s in the winter.

Solid 80/10 car for the purposes we need it for smile
