Mrs Keo's Yaris hybrid is due its 6 year service soon. I am working away but she has been to the local Toyota garage and they have quoted £450. Is it worth it? I know she likes the idea of keeping the Toyota warranty and main dealer servicing is expensive but it seams excessive. If Toyota is so reliable surely any good garage can look after it. It pays dividends in the future though i suppose if we have issues with the hybrid battery or something and it has a full dealer service history.

Being honest i will probably just pay it for any easy life and the convenience but part of me thinks it is a rip off!

Presumably there's a spark plug change included because major service on Yaris on the Toyota site should be £395, if its not spark plugs be interesting to know what the extra £55 is for, brake fluid change?

Obviously the warranty is then valid for another year but isn't a years breakdown cover also included if you get the main dealer service.
Don't suppose for one minute anything will go wrong on a Toyota of that age, but as you rightly say peace of mind for the hybrid system.

Would be worth it for the years Toyota warranty IMHO.

That would be my view as well but I agree it is a bit of a rip off for a wee Yaris.
However, that hybrid synergy drive is quite complex and if it goes wrong......
So best for it to be still under warranty.

Thanks everyone. Paying for the peace of mind really then! I suggested I buy her a newer one but she likes the one she has with it being an orange/ red launch edition and by rights it’s a Toyota. It should have years left init and she doesn’t do many miles really.

It is.... but the complexity of the hybrid setup would make it worth it.

In my mind i'd be thinking of it as £250 for the service, £200 for the warranty and battery health check.

All worth it come resale time.

Fully agree with what you are saying. Usually once my Mrs has finished we can’t sell the car biggrin although I give her credit she is looking after this one.
