I've just noticed a 'racing harness mount' has appeared on the configurator. Anyone know anything about this? It's a free option but I'm wondering what you might lose as a trade-off

I’d be very interested as I know you can buy one but I’m steering clear until there’s data to show it can take the loads generated in a crash. So an official one you’d have to assume would be proven.

Agreed. I wonder how the lap straps are mounted (or is the 'mount' an entire solution?)

I spotted this, it's selected on my current spec. I need to talk to the dealer tomorrow any way, so I'll ask them if they have any info.

Thanks, WWWs. I asked my dealer to add it onto my car or give me full details so I know what I'm missing out on. I've not heard back yet. My car is due to leave the factory in a few weeks' time, so it's probably going to be too late for me. I'll be a bit annoyed if I miss out, having waited for the upgraded models to be announced before I placed my order.

I spoke to my dealer today and my spec is now locked, so whatever it is I've missed out unfortunately. He's no info on it just yet (he is chasing Alpine) but I've asked him to find out if it might also be a dealer-fit option. Whatever it turns out to be!

Apparently, this is a glitch, it is only available on the S and is not a free option!

I have to say that I had hoped the realignment of the models names and configurations would have made more sense than the previous Pure/Legende split - but it seems just as inconvenient as before. I notice that you can only have heated seats on the Pure if you have the convenience pack - and you can only have that if you have 18" wheels. In effect heated seats are a £4000 option! Make no sense to me.

You can always get aftermarket heated seats. Look up https://trimtechnik.net/interior-accessories/heate... They do better than OEM interiors

It's really quite frustrating! There is a big just from A110 to GT as well.

Interesting, I wonder if the aftermarket heaters work with bucket seats.

That's what my dealer told me too.

Re: heated seats. This is an easy retrofit, so don't worry. My mum had these fitted to her car & that was 16 years ago. They worked well. I might do this too. What annoys me about factory heated seats is the seat base gets too hot & the backrest is not warm enough. If I get retro fit heated seats, I'll have one circuit for the base, & another for the backrest, as I know there will be occasions when it would be good to have the backrest only turned on. I'll probably get the driver's seat adjusted while I'm at it, as the seats are not a good shape for me, & they're too wide - so I slop around in the seat as I go round corners.

My sister's 987 came with a heated steering wheel. I wish that was an easy retrofit. Really, I'd love to ditch the Alpine steering wheel, which, for me, is one of the worst aspects of the car's design, & fit an aftermarket wheel (even if it wasn't heated), but with the airbag & all those controls on the wheel, it's a goal I'm unlikely to achieve.

You're right, BCR, it's annoying that only certain combinations of options are available. I'd have liked the big brakes, but they won't sell me the brakes unless I buy some expensive wheels I don't want. They're daft. They could have had more of my money, but instead I'll be considering giving it to a purveyor of aftermarket performance brakes, who will not insist I buy a set of wheels if I want some of his ali belled discs. They could have had another £1k+ from me for some extended dinamica too, but I'll be buying that elsewhere as well.

You can't now have heated seats without 18-inch wheels, which is bizarre.

I, too, am annoyed by the model segmentation. If I could configure either:

- An S with height adjustable seats and softer suspension.

- A GT with the black roof, rear wing, front splitter, etc.

I would have ordered a new A110 by now. Unfortunately, wanting the softer ride and needing adjustable seats for sharing the car with my wife means I can't get the car I want.
