As you will all realise phone mounting is less than straightforward in the A110, whilst reviewing options I came across this option - early days but looks to work quite well. Very high quality as you would expect from Quad Lock, bit fiddly to get the position spot on and care needed not to damage the vent but the position seems reasonable for a ‘low down’ off the shelf option.

Cost about £30 in the UK and there are options for MAG Case etc.

I would not want to twist a phone on a quadlock attached to the middle vent each and every time i get in and out of the Alpine.

These airvent fins do not seem super strong and this will put on unnecessary stress, which may lead to breaking.

Agreed some care required, the QL mount is over engineered compared to the vent mount. Not over tightening is important & I also hold the mount when locking in, it is surprisingly solid when tightened up !!

Has anyone tried the traditional windscreen phone mount from Quadlock?

I was plannig on just swapping that into the car, although maybe it would need to be mounted at the top of the windscreen or it would be too far away?

I must admit, when I was considering a car without the CarPlay it did occur to me that the obvious place to affix a mount would be into the slot at the front of the centre consul - where the dealers tend to put the "key" on test drives.

Just needs a fitted plate made up. Easily slid in and out and not going to go anywhere.
