As per the title, has anybody got any recommendations on OBD reader and/or software works best with A110?
Have used basic cheap Bluetooth adaptor and free Torque on other cars but very limited use
Also used Delphi DS150e wired on Win 7, which worked well but the version only covered to 2014
Wondering if there is a newer software compatible with the DS150e or a good OBD scanner that not only reads faults and resets fault and service light but can also carry out functional tests and calibrations

Does nobody have an OBD reader scanner that they use and can recommend?
Is the Renault Clio compatible?

Even the AA's super-duper Bosch thing didn't seem to have Alpine codes when I had fuel pump failure recently and called them out frown

Thanks
That's worrying
I would have thought that it might have been based on the Renault Clip diagnostics software being a Megane based engine, but would have thought AA would have had Renault code but obviously not

I've had past issues with Fiats and my Alfa Giulia with some of the simpler readers, so got myself an iCarsoft EU Pro a year or so ago.

I hadn't tried it on the Alpine, but just went out and connected it up.

To find the Alpine you have to go in through the Renault option and within that there is the Alpine A110 specifically included. It seems to run the diagnostics OK (although I think it's picking up non installed equipment as faults). In the Service menu it seems to have all the basic reset options.

I've noticed a strange issue when trying some diagnostics and I thought this topic is good fit for my question.

So the issue is really just observation of MAF (mass air flow meter) value in WOT runs. Basically I get max 135g/s @6100 rpm, which is way too low, should be around 200g/s for 250 hp. I've tested this with two different interafaces and I get exactly the same number. Would anyone be willing to check what max value they get from MAF?

A friend that's a technician told my maf may be faulty and to replace it and try again... but I don't have any other issue, or fault code in ecu. :-/

I will be able to test it when I get my car which is currently getting PPF and a few tweaks before I use it so it might be a week or two.

However, I presume the reading will be the same - I imagine there is a correction factor used by the ecu to convert the absolute reading from the sensor. So probably the reading you’re seeing is false. That would be my guess.

Thanks, that would be really helpful to confirm something is wrong or not with my maf sensor.

Try the following app 'Car Scanner ELM OBD2' by 0vZ. It is sometimes more successful than Torque on my vehicle. Although my car is not an A110 it might be worth a try, as its free.

Thanks, that's the one I've also used and can recommend it! Connected without a problem with elm wifi dongle.

I've replaced the MAF today, and I still get the same low MAF reading (133g/s @6100rpm).

Would really appreciate someone could test it and confirm this is normal (that ecu is doing some further correction to get the real number)!

Having pulled the dashboard cover off, I don't think I've ever seen such a flimsy OBD port mounting
It looks like if you push too hard it will pop out of the mounting bracket
Not helped by the open back of the port wiring either

Aladoro: that's actually a feature, not a bug smile)
If you want to plug in some permanent diagnostic device, it's really easy to pop the connector off and hide it behind the cover.

Did you had a chance to read MAF values? I have around 1.5-1.9g/s on idle, and max 132 g/s on wot...

Hi Simon, did you manage to finish those tweaks on your car? Maybe have some time to plug in obd2 reader smile
