Getting frustrated by the delays in getting my car, so I need to have a bit of a rant.

When I placed my order I was expecting it in the first half of March.
At the starts of the month, the dealer said there were delays at the French ports, but was still expecting it in March.

27th March: I was told “it should be in the UK today”. I signed all the paperwork to get it registered before the road tax increase.
1st April: I received a call saying it was still in France, and therefore would not be registered before the tax increase.
3rd April: Dealer emailed to say the car is in the UK, and Alpine would make sure I did not have to pay the higher tax.
4th April: Alpine Concierge service phoned to say the car would be delivered in April, and they would refund the whole of the first years road tax.

I asked if they could confirm the car is in the UK, and was told “we’ll get back to you”.

I’m very unhappy. I want my A110, and I want it now!!

Seems pretty annoying, almost as annoying as the 2024 date thread title.
Anyhoo…when did you order it, and what model? I wanted to order a GT early March and couldn’t, that annoyed me, b cause I don’t want a GTS. The 300 + GT suspension is no more.

I will likely end up getting the A110 and yes it’s enough poke, but Alpine miss out on a fair few quid

Might spend the savings on a 6k paint job though!!

Bugger! I’m living in the past.

I ordered the car in January. I compromised on my intended spec in order to get a car before the April tax increase. There was one similar (but identical) in build, which I was assured would be here early March.

When I placed my order you could no longer order a GT build, but there were some in stock. I tried one, but preferred the standard car with a few options.

Commiserations OP. Annoying… but at least you have the gesture of the VED refund. I’m sure you’d rather be driving your March reg car though.

I decided I wanted to buy new and wanted to beat Rachel’s VED hit. Managed to get a GT with the right wheels and am v pleased. It’ll be worth the wait for you.

Have you got it yet? I ordered mine in September for a March delivery and am still waiting. It arrived in the UK in late February and, as far as I can tell, never left Southampton. I'll be inquiring about the VED.....I have also told them that I won't be paying for the service for my current one in May if they haven't swapped them out by then.

Speaks directly to Renault/Alpine ‘concierge’ (customer services). Tell them you ordered the car expecting to beat the VED increase, and you want the same compensation they have given to other customers in the same situation.

I think Alpine’s communication has been pretty poor. Fortunately my dealer has done his best and got the car to me almost as soon as it arrived in the UK.

Thanks. I hadn’t seen one in Fire Orange when I ordered it. I was worried it might be a bit much. But I love it.

I assumed that was red! Fire Orange is a great colour. I saw an A110 in it at a car meet and was smitten. However, I wanted to beat Rachel’s punitive VED increase and had to take what was available. I’m very happy with Bleu Alpine though. :-)

Right wheels too. Which model is it?

Thanks - already done in respect to upcoming services, but will also raise the VED point. I have an Abyss Blue Alpine already. Wasim has always been excellent in his support.

Lovely car....I'm about to trade mine in for the same colour (assuming it ever arrives). Looks fabulous!

Just the base 250 bhp model with a few options.

You'll not regret.
