Hi Alpine owners!

Technical / diagnostics question for someone out there, please...

My 2020 A110 GT (the one currently in California) is throwing a couple of codes:
- P26A3 Engine Coolant Bypass Valve ‘A’ Range /Performance
- P26A5 Engine Coolant Bypass Valve ‘A’ Position Sensor Circuit Range / Performance

Reading between the lines, this is a failing thermostat, right? I noticed there have been a couple of times where it seems to be over-cooling.

I tried looking for a bypass valve on Autodoc, but it's not even clear to me what the part is. Can someone who's experienced this code or has some idea on how to resolve it please comment? Will it always fail open or is there a chance it could overheat?

Greatly appreciated, Ben

Ben,
Porsche 997s have a bypass valve that fails which gives virtually identical faults to yours. It stops coolant flowing to the gearbox until its up to temp. Not saying that's the fault here, or even if they have a similar cooling circuit, but something to consider.

Eta: great to see some US reviews of the car, I'm pleased we are making them all jealous!
