Hello all,

We are considering an A110s as a replacement to our Elise RGB SC, we do a few trackdays at Snetterton, Donington, Brands GP and Bedford mainly, will there be any noise issues with the Alpine?

Read somewhere that in track mode the exhaust has a louder note and burbles etc.

I would think your Elise would be louder overall as no GPF & generally a decade less stringent noise requirements - certainly not heard of any standard cars having track day issues even in more regulated days

Track mode is louder and does burble, but I've never had an issue with noise, even when popping on the shifts under the noise gantry at donington. We also have an Elise 220 (2ZR engine) and the Elise is definitely louder.

Thanks both, that’s great to know.

Just need to find the right spec and test drive one before taking the plunge

Can confirm an S is fine at Bedford in track mode too, which is one of the most stringent drive by tests I think.

For what it's worth, when I saw an Alpine lap at the Zolder track, I was surprised at how quiet it was! The crackling exhaust told me it was at least in 'Sport' mode, but it was by far one of the more subdued cars in terms of noise. Zolder is pretty stringent at 98dB, and there were lots of much louder cars around (including my own) which never get pinged.

Good to know Yuri, possible euro trips to tracks could be on the cars, wouldn’t have considered them in the Lotus for many reasons, not just noise

110 S in normal mode seems to static test around 87dB - certainly less than 90

Lower than the various Lotus I’ve owned

Thanks for this, that means pretty much all Uk circuits are good to go :-)
