I've not been through it all but there's the SE that we knew about plus a 'racing line'

Is it just a paint job? I've not been through it all but there's the SE that we knew about plus a 'racing line'
It looks like small tweaks on the SE, which becomes the standard V6 offering, and then yes, the Racing Line is just a paint job (badges, seat piping etc.) on the SE.
Nothing terribly exciting (slight gearbox and cooling tweaks) but good to see them making some incremental changes. Still no motorsport green or a slightly lighter option though.

V6 Racing line now a £100,000 car. I can't believe anybody is gonna buy those are they? Into 911 territory now and that's a very very compelling package (if less good looking and predictable etc etc).
That said, the new green is absolutely stunning...
You could say similar things about all of the models. Had they pitched them at about the same price as a (similarly equipped) comparable Porsche and you could see quite a few being seduced by the looks. Some would prefer it simply because it isn't a Porsche. Difficult at current prices particularly with the reliability/quality issues they have had. That said, the new green is absolutely stunning...
Odd that I haven't managed to find independent performance figures for any 4 pot variant.

Reliability issues just get blown out of proportion by the internet, they really do. Lotus sold 10,000 Emiras and yet i don't see 10,000 people complaining, just a small number. And don't assume Porsche is immune for issues either...

Don't see many on the road. I've only seen one since they were released.
TX.
Aside from the one in my garage, I've probably seen 6-7. But given there are millions of cars on the road that's not surprising, plus they tend to be weekend cars so, again, less likely to be seen on the road.TX.

The cheapest base 911 is in the early £100k's going up to £150k but those are without pricey options. For £100k the Emira is at least fully loaded. TBH I see it more as a Cayman alternative than 911.

Not at £100k it's not a Cayman rival - it's vastly more expensive than a Cayman. A GTS is 75k basic and optioned nicely, but not crazily, under 85k. That's a stunning 4 litre engine and a good dealership network too (well, ok, maybe not 'good', but wide, if expensive and annoying at times).Reliability issues just get blown out of proportion by the internet, they really do. I'd absolutely love the Emira, but I'd find it very hard to spend so much more on one than a Cayman.
As to reliability, there are enough complaints on the Emira forums about niggles - vastly more than Porsche. Porsche also have that aforementioned delaer network which Lotus seriously lacks.
I love the cars, but I just cannot see these Emiras selling in any serious numbers for that kind of money. At 70 grand it'd be a totally different ballgame I think, which is kind of where I assumed the base cars were gonna be when I put my deposit down (before launch). The sales strategy on these boggles my mind, it really does. But gosh, it is VERY pretty.
