£55k Taycan - Private Purchase

I’m looking to buy a second-hand Taycan with a budget of around £55k, ideally a Cross Turismo 4S with a few well-chosen options.
I’ve just missed out on this one at £52k:

I’ve driven a couple of Taycans and they seem to fit my needs, but I’m wondering if there are any years or models I should avoid. I know some manufacturers temporarily reduced specifications during the COVID supply issues, and I’m not sure if Porsche was one of them.
Also my biggest concern is battery longevity, as I tend to keep my cars for a while. Am I likely to be looking at a £40k battery replacement in five years? Or, if I get bored and sell it in two years with another 15,000 miles on the clock, could I be facing £25k in depreciation?

8yr/100k miles battery warranty on the car, so the answer to that question is no.
Covid supply limits? Yes. Electrically adjustable steering columns were stopped for a while (yes really!). And I think some other options were in short supply (matrix headlights for a period, Bose stereo. Key thing is to make sure the options you want are on the cars you're looking at.
MY22 moved from gloss button packs to satin...and IIRC there was some small software improvement. That was it.

Good point. A quick search shows they are out of my price point at the moment by a good £15-20k.Perhaps I need to consider if it's worth holding off until they come down in value.

You are. If it was a big petrol of diesel it would be just as bad. The market moved mostly to SUVs so these suffer mostly because they are the wrong body shape but they do represent great value and if you are in for the long term than it won't be so bad.3xAAA said:

I bought mine through Porsche approved, 3 year warranty, probably paid £5k more than I could have paid elsewhere but I also PCP'd it so no depreciation or major headaches hopefully.

But at least you know what it will be, and have no need to try and sell it when you are done - not easy looking at how long many cars have been for sale. I enquired about a good spec 24 Gen 2 CT 4S at Newport but was a bit put off when I learned it had been on the market for nearly a year (albeit now sold).Tye Green said:

The car plus separate bike carrier will be up for sale from next week and I’m looking for £55k as a private sale. It has the remainder of the warranty until December 2022 and has recently had a new set of 4 tyres.

I do think they are great value cars now.
There are a few lemons out there - but find a good one and accept that the Porsche infotainment (on any Porsche) is a bit crap and they are fantastic.
The Porsche pricing of optional extras is insane - but the must have in my opinion is four wheel steer which makes it a breeze to park.
For me the best bit about the car aside from the instant power delivery is the air suspension. I’ve never had such a comfortable car.

I had a 4S (it’s still in the family) and enjoyed it immensely, save for the range which in real world terms was 200 miles on a good day and 170 on a bad one. The PCM was an irritant and worth checking if it’s had a new heater at some point, but £55k should get you in a very nice one, mine is pretty loaded and I decided to keep (and loan to son in law) after a derisory offer of £43k from my OPC, it had 22k miles and was a 21 car.
