I see that Dacia have posted some initial photos of the outside of the new Dacia Striker. Full details should be available in June this year. As a fan on soft roader estates such as the Skoda Octavia scout, Volvo cross country, Audi A4 / A6 Allroad, etc I quite like the look of this. I'm guessing the interior and the mechanicals will be the same or very similar to the Duster and Bigster.

Not sure I’d class that as an estate though, it’s not a bad looking car though.

What a fabulous looking thing and I assume Dacia will be pricing it very competitively. I really think Dacia has a bright future as long as they don’t let their prices creep up.

I like it but wish they'd square the back off a bit instead of going for the more stylish coupe style roof line.

That 100 litres of so of space is disproportionately useful.

Too late for that!

Does look great though.

You’d just end up with a Bigster? I’m guessing it’s about that size.

Good point, from fridges to suitcases.

I think the load area of this would be significantly longer.

Could be wrong.

As an old V70 owner it's amazing what it could swallow.
V90 never appealed to me for this reason alone.

Looks good and Dacia seem to be on a bit of a roll at the moment.

They want to be careful with their pricing though. They may be cheap but they’re not that cheap and with Chinese stuff nibbling at their price points, they may easily find themselves doing a Skoda where the ‘value’ offering isn’t that much cheaper than the main brands.

Surely they'll copy the germans, and make up for increasing prices by adding a few extra syllables.

Dachhhiiiahhh.

I wanted it to be a bit more estatey, but it's still interesting enough that I'll have a look at one as the next family car.

Looks a bit upmarket for Dacia. Is the brand creeping upwards due to popularity?

It's definitely following the Skoda model. But that's mainly because that's what sells in the UK.

You can buy a Spring that barely cracks 5 figures but they seem to be selling more Bigsters at 3x that price.

Looks like my Bigster but lower. Quite like it.

As to price, yes they are no longer the bargain basement that they were.

My new Duster bought back in 2021 was a mere £10,500.

In 2025 I was handing over almost £30k for my Bigster yikes

But then it's about £10k less than any of the equivalent models from other manufacturers.

Yes, because they are directly comparable and people are obviously fools.
