Beautiful car, colour and interior. Is the issue with the spoiler that the hydaulics are leaking, and if all other major repairs have been carried out on the car, how come this wasn't rectified?

Thanks

Hello and apologies for the delay in response, completely missed the question posted.

Yes, spoiler is disabled and that relates to left mechanism seeping slightly. Spoiler still operates as intended - goes up and down, but stops short few mm below intended place and generates the dash light. Given that car is only used for long trips and as a weekend drive and not track, I have opted to have spoiler disabled as I do not need 'added performance' element which also eliminates the dash light. Additionally, for me personally, this is a visual aspect as well as I dislike the looks with upper part raised. Given this is not car critical element and myself not being handy enough to attempt self-repair I have opted not to do this job. However, stating it clear for any potential buyer if they would be attending to this as there numerous options available from OPC to after-market ones.

Any more questions, happy to answer.

Porsche 996 Turbo Twists are not a directional wheel design in their original OEM form. Your wife was right on this one.

Cheers

Hi, is the only reason for relisting that reserve wasn’t met? Are you able to disclose what reserve you’re looking for?

thank you for your valid question

We do not reveal the reserves set for each auction. To keep it fair for all we merely ask you bid to what you can afford and what you believe to be the value of the car.

If you have any queries or concerns or wish to understand the guide price for the car, please feel free to contact me directly.

Good luck with your bidding

A couple of comments following the question, not as a buyer but as a fan and owner of a similar spec car.

My question: how did you disable the spoiler.

My comments.
1) Unless the driver is doing over 76mph, the spoiler will stay down - so unless someone is doing a trackday, it will stay down... unless you press the button.
2) There are numerous ways of dealing with the issue so it's best to leave it to the next owner to decide.
-remove the spoiler mechanism and spoiler
-disable the system so it's set in the "down" position
-replace the mechanism with a fixed strut system
-get the mechanism refurbed (it will leak again in a few years' time)
-replace the mechanism with a mechanical non-pump/pneumatic system (still can fail and can be a bit wobbly).
3) It's the same issue with the 997 Turbo (S) spoiler. And the Carrera GT. So don't think "if I buy a newer model, I'll be fine."

As to these cars in general, I only meant to have mine for a year; I'm now into the 4th year and continue to enjoy owning and driving it. I need help. biggrin

Hi, Thank you for the message.

The spoiler was disabled only, it was done by NineExcellence in Crawley, so no damage was done to the mechanism. Future custodian of the car, as rightly pointed, will be able to decide best route forward.

Overall, I have to echo what has been said, such a rewarding car to experience and drive. Took it out for a spin yesterday and it still makes me look back and smile every time. Bittersweet moment, not going to lie, but keen to try different car and motoring experience in the form of Alfa Junior GT 1600 and not in the position to run multiple cars which are used only occasionally just yet. Would certainly go back to 996, dream would be 996 GT3 mk2 in Speed Yellow. One day hopefully!

Ah, they look after my car so I'll speak to them, thanks.

Yeah, that's the reason why I "want" to sell mine but I feel like I would regret it, also I don't know whether to go modern or classic (like you). First world problems! I even considered sticking it in one of those car storage places for a year while I play with something else!

@morris62676 - car is located in South London, SW2

@Hoofy, yes, you can speak to Adam from 9E, he and the team knows the car well, both 996 C4S and 996 T I had were only serviced with them during the last 5 years.
And true regarding choices and options, so many amazing motors out there!
