Good afternoon

For clarity, the car has been SORN/off-road for the majority of its life, with its first MOT carried out in 2022. As a result, the invoices shown above cover the entirety of the car’s on-road history.

Importantly, as per the file shown, the cam belt, water pump, alternator aux belt tensioner, discs and pads all round etc have been replaced. We recently had the Sach dampers inspected and can confirm they are all in good working order.

So the cars 1st MOT was 2022? 2005 to 2022, the mileage done was 9800 but no servicing during this 9800 mileage or 17 years?

is there any damage, however small, anywhere in, on or under the car ?
Where is the normal wear and tear inside the car?
(whilst the pictures show much detail it will be good to hear from someone who’s seen the car in detail first hand) thanks

The Sachs dampers were inspected on our own ramp - see attached underside pictures.

There is no damage to the car anywhere – in, on or underneath. The chassis, suspension components and underbody are all clean and present exactly as you would expect given its mileage and careful use. Internally it follows suit, vouching for its low mileage and cosseted life. This is a genuine, honest example.

I have no reason to not believe the paintwork isn’t fully original too. All Speedline wheels are unmarked; they were professionally refurbished for cosmetic perfection, with the correct Speedline decals reinstated.

Re servicing, mileage and MOT history, the first recorded service was in 2022, as shown in the documents already uploaded to the auction.

The circa 9,800 miles were not covered in a single year but accumulated gradually over a long period. The car was off-road for extended periods prior to 2022, which I will confirm in more detail shortly.

How has the mileage built up gradually when it’s had no MOT its entire life? Where the miles done in the first 3 years then nothing for 14 years?

thanks for the extra info. a few more Qs pls :
Can I double check this is correct - 17 years with no MOT or servicing ?
How did it accumulate 9,800 miles without an MOT?
What’s the exact timeline of mileage accumulation: When were the 9,800 miles done?
Sachs dampers: have these just been inspected visually, or tested ? (my understanding is a rebuild is recommended every 10–12 years, even if little use, because seals perish over time)
Storage conditions? garage vs outdoors, climate-controlled?
Any invoices for pre-2022 maintenance? Even oil changes?
Underside photos: Can you upload shots of subframe, sills, suspension arms.
cheers

Thank you for your questions. We have upload some images of the very clean underside of the car to the main picture gallery. I hope this helps.

Good luck

The majority of the mileage was covered within the car’s first three years, prior to it requiring its first MOT. Thereafter, the car was dry stored and placed on SORN for a prolonged period, remaining in storage until 2022.

Upon leaving storage, it was recommissioned and subject to the works detailed on the 2022 invoice. There are no receipts with the car prior to this point; however, if this was a higher-mileage example, concerns around under-servicing and potential long-term mechanical implications would be entirely understandable. In this context, the mileage is still exceptionally low and the works carried out to date provide reassurance of its mechanical health.

The car was dry stored throughout its time off the road, which is clearly reflected in its overall condition. This consistency is evident not only in the exterior and interior, but also underneath, and I hope the underside photographs provide additional peace of mind for those currently assessing the car remotely.

With regard to the Sachs dampers, these have not simply been visually inspected. They were checked and tested by our mechanic and do not present any issues, nor do they require replacement. The car drives exactly as it should and shows no evidence of having lived a hard or neglected life. Since March, I have covered approximately 600 miles, during which time the car has been entirely faultless.

This is very much a collector-grade example and, to my knowledge, is likely the lowest-mileage, lowest-owner car in existence. Without discouraging use or enjoyment, this is not a short-term ownership proposition; it is far more likely to appeal to collectors and marque enthusiasts who recognise the rarity and significance of an example like this, potentially placing it back into long-term storage to preserve its position as the lowest-mileage example.
