I didn't have any issues getting fully comp insurance on it. Obviously you have to speak to an insurance company that deals with specialist and imported vehicles, but yeah there's plenty of those around. I remember the first place I rang did give me a very high price, but the second place was pretty similar price to insuring a UK car that is this value/type

There will be loads of insurance companies that will offer fully comprehensive insurance on Japanese imports. Try Keith Michaels, Greenlight and Adrian Flux as a start if you want to get a few quotes.
