Is this on the original rear sub-frame?....they are a weak point and known to rust from the inside, any idea on the condition?

Hi,

Sorry no I don’t know.

I’m just going by the comment on the MOT from last month, they said the advisory was a simple ‘fix’ by brushing off and coating with an anti rust protection.

Hi.

Why was the car resprayed, damaged?

Any images of the reason prior to respray that you can share?

Thanks

Could you also confirm:
• Does the air conditioning currently blow properly cold, and has the reason it may need a re-gas actually been diagnosed?
• Has the 7G-Tronic gearbox oil/filter been changed and, if so, when? Any issues whatsoever with its operation?
• Does the folding roof operate perfectly with no hydraulic leaks, warning messages or water ingress?
• What exactly has been modified on the exhaust, and are the original parts available?
• What make/age are the four tyres and approximately how much tread remains?
• What condition are the discs/pads in?
• Are there two working keys?
• Are there any warning lights, fluid leaks, electrical faults or other known mechanical issues not mentioned in the listing?
Finally, after owning the car since 2014 and recently having the full respray carried out, may I ask the reason for selling?

Hi,

No, there was no damage to the car at all. I had the respray done more to freshen the paintwork, with it being 20 years old it was showing signs of general wear & looking tired. I wasn’t planning on selling it at that point but now other things have taken priority & sadly I’m not using the car enough, it deserves to be driven not stored on the drive.
You can see from the mileage on the MOTs that I’ve done very little in terms of mileage, I’m actually away at the mo & can’t remember the brand of tyres. I always had Pilot Sports on the car but the garage didn’t have stock when I had tyres replaced, there’s a decent amount of tread but I can’t measure it until I’m back home. Same with the air con, i hadn’t used it at all & only tried it prior to advertising it, hence noticing it isn’t cold. I presumed it may need a re-gas, I haven’t had it checked or diagnosed. I don’t know what the previous owner did with regard to the exhaust, I was too excited to buy it so wasn’t really listening to all I was being told! It has no warning lights other than a bulb that has just recently popped on, I’m sure I can get that sorted. The MOT was all ok last month, brakes are fine , no advisories. The car is amazing, at the end of the day it is a 20 year old car & not brand new so depending how picky people are I’m sure some can find fault, but the photos on PH show the car as it is. Anything that has needed doing, I’ve always had it done. Thankfully the car has been very reliable & never let me down. (Other than a flat battery due to lack of use!) Current battery on the car is probably only a year old. I’ve also cleaned the headlights so they don’t have that yellow tinge now.

Thanks, that's really helpful and explains the respray. Do you happen to have the invoice for the respray, or could you tell me which bodyshop carried it out and roughly when it was done? Just useful to have some provenance for such a substantial job. Why did you choose the particular bodyshop? I am mainly trying to understand the standard of the respray. Are there any imperfections in the paint job like grains of dust under the paint etc ?Issues would really affect the price achievement. Thanks.

Morning, I can get a copy invoice, that should be no problem. I had it done in June last year. I have a few photos of it in the spray shop actually being done. The bodyshop who did the respray are highly recommended & have a great reputation, so it definitely wasn’t some cheap back street paint job! I’ve always looked after all of my cars, this one being no exception.
