Could anyone recommend me a book or TV prog or whatever that documents in simple to me terms, the history of Czechoslovakia, particularly the 20th Century and the Dubcek years.

There’s a book called Post-War A History of Europe since 1945 by Tony Judt which may be of interest. As per the title it covers a lot more than just Czechoslovakia, but it’s pretty readable. Warning: it’s a big book over 900 pages in paperback.

You might find it in the history section of an Oxfam book shop for a fiver
