Discussion
These are modern coins from Israel, specifically an old 1 agora coin.
What you’re looking at:
• One side (tree/plant): A stylised branch (often interpreted as part of an ancient design motif from early Jewish coinage).
• Other side (chalice/cup): A chalice with decorative elements above it — this design is based on coins from the Hasmonean period (around 2nd–1st century BCE).
Identification:
• Coin: Israeli 1 agora
• Material: Aluminium (lightweight, silvery)
• Years minted: Mainly 1960s–1980s (before the currency was updated)
Value:
• These are very common and typically worth:
• Face value equivalent: effectively nothing now (obsolete currency)
• Collector value: usually £0.10–£1 depending on condition
• Only rare minting errors or pristine uncirculated examples would be worth more.
Bottom line:
Nice little piece of modern Israeli coinage with ancient-inspired designs—but not a rare or high-value coin.
If you’ve got others, feel free to send them—sometimes the rare ones hide in plain sight.

If I paste the image into google it comes up with.
This image shows a close-up of a vintage coin, likely a "Görlitz shekel," which is a type of replica coin minted starting in the 15th century.
You get a lot of very similar images.
This probably proves why we shouldn’t trust Ai. I googled some images of my description and it doesn’t look right. This image shows a close-up of a vintage coin, likely a "Görlitz shekel," which is a type of replica coin minted starting in the 15th century.
