Hi has anyone got one of these and if so how are you getting on with it?
I came away from a test drive pretty impressed and although the driving dynamics are average, I found it hard to fault as an overall family car package especially for the price.
Given they are quite new, I guess the reliability is still an unknown.

Not the 9 but I have the closely related jaecoo 7 phev, overall I like it. It s no sports car but then you wouldn t expect it to be.
I have had a creaking from the front suspension area that they ve had trouble sorting not helped by the dealership being taken over. There s some issues with the DAB radio but they seem to have found a fix for that and cars are being recalled for a new antenna.
Other than that I’ve really enjoyed the car, comfortable and drives well, gets lots of compliments which I really didn’t expect given the stigma around Chinese cars. The kids love it as well which is what I bought it for really now they’re growing up.
The omoda 9 does look really nice and my neighbour who is no shyster to a premium badge went to look at one the other day and was impressed. Only thing that would put me off is it falls into the luxury car tax band, but the extra battery range would be nice.

Well I have ordered one so let’s see what happens longer term.
For me at the price it feels like a no brainer. I am coming from an Audi Q7 but the prices for these now are too high to justify the cost to change to a newer one.
My man maths suggests I can run this and still have my Discovery 3 v8 as a cost effective back up for the times I need more space or the warranty parts are on ‘back order’.

2 months in no real complaints, little niggles like the driver aids but these take a few seconds to switch off, these have to be turned off again everytime I start the car so I usually leave these on if it’s the school run or just a short drive. No biggie doesn’t really bother me. Coming from a 2005 Saab it feels like a spaceship in here! Much nicer place to sit & tons of toys!
Performance is excellent, it really does shift. Not sure if it’s just mine but it flies to just over 60 then seems to ease off, come off the accelerator and floor it again and it’s pins you to the seat
Handling’s not terrible but not that great either but expected that from the reviews. Would be nice if they tightened up the handling a bit in sport mode. Steering is very light but you get used to it. But it’s a nice comfortable drive (very quiet with double glazed fronts) and practical, my little one loves the extra space and sat high up, the old 9-3’s boot was bigger but it’s still a decent size. No real under floor storage though just enough for a charging cable.
I’m just using a 3 pin charger for now, with the mileage I drive it’ll take years to recoup the cost of a wall box (around £1.5k as the cars parked at the rear of the house in a parking bay) Claimed 93 mile electric range, I’d say that’s pretty much accurate. I haven’t really run the engine yet and just kept it in EV mode but it should be around 700 miles with a full tank.
Audio’s decent enough once you adjust the EQ settings, infotainment screen take a bit of getting used to but works well with Apple Car Play. Has 3 physical knobs for temp control, fan speed & driver modes which is good. Had a look at a few cars and everything is done with the screen.
Interiors lovely! If you cover the steering wheel you’d think it’s a Mercedes, heated/ventilated seats are great, heated steering wheel, pan roof with sunroof, plenty of storage, plenty of space & lots of soft touch ‘leather’ I don’t know how China get away with it but they’ve stolen a load of little bits from Mercedes!!!
As an overall package I can’t really fault it.
