As these seem to be popping up now i thought i'd add my thoughts after having the 'pleasure' of driving one for a month.
last month, some brain dead idiot decided to cross the carriageway and go head on with my Mini e. When it went for repair the insurers arranged a courtesy car and I was given an automatic Chery Tiggo 7 with 300 miles on the clock.
It's massive compared to my mini, not an issue. What is an issue is the mind of its own it seems to have.
Firstly, despite having such little details as electric drivers seat, fancy interior lights that react to music, sun visor LED mirrors etc, they didn't bother with basic stuff such as electric folding mirrors, which on a car this size is a bit of a pain in the bum. The nice little recess for your phone in the console isn't wireless either, but the enormous armrest glovebox is cooled. They seem to have gone through a list of what would be useful, then thought 'sod it' and put in things that really aren't, but these are petty gripes and not my real reason for thoroughly disliking this car.
It's a 1.6 petrol engine that is totally gutless. Even in Sport mode. Pulling off seems a chore to it. I know, I'm used to the instant power of electric by now, but even so, every movement seems an effort for this car. The bodywork is tinny, tapping it is like a bean can. I don't think I'd like to be in any form of an accident in this thing.
Then there are the electrics. The little camera on the steering wheel constantly tells me I'm tired. This needs disabling through the settings menu every single trip. I've figured out the reason it does this is because I'm quite an alternative dressing girl and it seems to mistake my red eye make up for me being about to fall asleep at the wheel.
The windows have a mind of their own when the car is locked. On two occasions they have all randomly rolled themselves down an hour after walking away from the vehicle. Over the weekend I walked away, it auto locked and when I looked back the windows were rolling down. Unlocking didn't roll them back either. Closed them all, walked away again and this time just the drivers window went down. Again returned, sorted that, pressed lock and really helpfully this time they didn't open, but the engine did start itself...
Add to this the daily warnings about child detection systems not working, temperature control deciding on a temperature it wants rather than the one you set.
I've since seen a video of a Tiggo 7 with a sunroof and rain tracking into the rearview mirror panel and pouring into the car. This one doesn't have a sun roof so thankfully thats not going to cause me an issue, but it's another marker of the 'interesting' quality of this car.
Hopefully it will go back at the end of this month and I will absolutely be celebrating its departure.

te that doesn't quite work. While missing basic functionality that has been baked into Euro cars for decades and I've become accustomed to as part of day-to-day features.Still... innovation and ideas should be encouraged. Creativity is a human strength.
My wallet will wait though
