As announced on the Sylva chat on google groups

"Hello from Sylva HQ,
For some time now I have been pondering on possible retirement, at sixty one
my back, knees, neck and Stella are very keen.
If I worked in a bank, drawing office or fire brigade I would just hand in
my notice and head for the sailing club.
It is obviously not going to be quite so easy leaving a company that I
started and kept running through thick and thin for the last thirty years.
Which is why I am emailing you, if you are a supplier, potential or existing
customer you might spot this process in motion and feel concerned.
I am very keen that whoever takes over the business continues in the same
manner that I have, well actually I hope they will improve in certain areas
such as marketing and sales! To this end I expect to remain monitoring the
transfer for some tome to come.
I am off on a weeks holiday and will be back on the 6th June if there are
any particular concerns you might have.
Yours very sincerely,
Jeremy Phillips.
P.S.
On another tack I would like to build one more J15 for myself before handing
in the towel so if anyone is interested in the red car that has been
featured everywhere I am looking for offers over £12,000."

Hopefully he will continue in some form as a consultant - the J15 / Riot are no doubt his best designs - an electric J15 could be a real winner??

yes Indeed.

As Fisher and Raw have proven, there are others who can take on the manufacture and marketing of his designs at least as effectively as Jeremy himself (arguably more effectively - as his own words acknowledge, he's never beenn very hot on the marketing side, to be honest).

Where his exeptional and possibly unique talents lie are as a designer of cars that punch further above their budget than any others, anywhere, in terms of handling and performance... it would be nice to think it would be possible for him to stay on with the company as Design Consultant/Design Director. After all, driving a CAD workstation isn't too physically taxing?

Chester sportscars already market and build the J15. I'm sure there will be a few interested parties.

Entirely correct very helpful very knowledgeable and designed a number of excellent kit cars and made a number of excellent products.

Clearly understands the dynamics of a driveable car a real loss to Kit Cars.

But, as I know to my cost, age catches us all in the end.

The date varies the result is the same.

Absolutely. I'm sure Jeremy won't have taken this step lightly, I for one wish him all the very best in his retirement and hope that he feels the urge to dabble now and again.

All the very best Jeremy.
