A little bit of grasstracking at the Abingdon Sprint yesterday.

I was convinced I could take it at 90MPH...apparently not.

This is the next run without the off course excursion, not the 20mph difference in entry speed !

If you've got to go off, it looks a good spot to chose smile

Certainly looks fun.

I don't think I would have been as committed without the run off....I had to drive the car 120 miles back home to I was being, err, careful.

Speed wasn't the problem. You did not get aenough opp lock on fast enough. Get a (much) quicker steering rack. Staying right off the grass on the apex may also help.

Tyre temp/Tyre size & compound was the problem. The car has a 2.2 quick rack already and I wasn't anywhere near the grass on the inside. Basically the issue was medium compound tyres without any temp in them (the issue with driving a car to a sprint). With super soft R888 (SG) rather than the GG compound I run and larger 205 or 215 section tyres (the Phoenix only has space for 185) it would not have stepped out like that.

Considering the direction you went off, getting the lock off was clearly the issue... ;-)
