wouldn't have gone in the first place if stafford hadn't nicked it's date, good look to them, hope the tracks open too, finally something positive
How to you come to that conclusion then?????From my experience as an exhibitor I found Donny to be the no. 2 show on the calendar (After Stoneleigh).
How could a new/unproven show in a cow shed possibly take all its exhibitors?
First it lost the track use, then I think the recession got the better of it.
donington had the date & was all organised, stafford announced same date, donington show pulled out as no way they would make money with a double date on the calender - quite a simple decision for them i would have thought

well that is very unlikely to happen again so lets move on----POSITIVELY! when i last exhibited at donington we sold a car, put two on the track and had an amazing time,we charged people £6 for 2 laps, took about £130 which we gave to CLIC, and wasted about £150 on fuel,it cost £500 to put the cars on the track.it was probably the best weekends showing we ever had.if it comes off, WE WILL BE THERE, especially if the track is available!!

Could you really see anyone turning up to a cattle shed skinking of cow p155 when the Donny show was still available.
I get on with Den, and I live closer to Stafford, but I would still have gone to Donny.....Even if a Stafford show stand was offered for free. You've gotto go where the money is/customers are.
nothing to do with me !! just what happened !! was booked for track day at donnington & it was cancelled - can't really say any more, don't see what you are trying to say ?!?!?!

We are delighted to confirm the speculation that it is Complete Kit Car magazine organising the new Donington Kit Car Show which will take place next year. We have many innovations planned. Our aim is to provide plenty going on to keep the whole family entertained for a full day. This is intended to attract new visitors to kit car shows as well as engaging those die-hards who are show regulars. Obviously it's too early at this stage to be specific, but we'll be making announcements over the coming months.
We have been in the planning stages of this show for months, during which time we've obviously been watching the various forum threads about shows. We obviously have to balance the cost of putting on a show at a prestigious venue like Donington with making it attractive to visitors, but in our opinion this is a risk worth taking with the support of the existing kit car enthusaists. At this early stage, we are open to your ideas which can be sent to us via the link on our website.
One important aspect of the show is that the 750 Motor Club will be holding a race meeting on the two days. The clubs and owners' cars will be parked on the circuit's infield, giving all visitors and excellent vantage point to see the action. This fixture is confirmed by both the 750MC and Donington Park, but may be subject to change if Donington's license for the number of 'noisy' dates is changed by the local authorities.
We're really thrilled to have the opportunity to run a kit car show at such a brilliant venue. Donington Park is at the heart of British motorsport and is the perfect place to stage a dynamic, exciting event. We hope that we are given the opportunity, support and enthusiasm of the whole kit car scene and encourage you to 'think different' with regard to shows to attract more people to our industry.
