Im about to replace the wheel in my Westy, It currently has a standard Westy wheel (round 300mm diameter) and Im after a 300mm wheel that had a flat bottom (to get my knees in!) but am struggling to find one.

Any of you using a smaller diameter wheel, does is cause any issues and what make is it?

I've got a momo team 280mm, but I haven't finished the car so I can't say how it is! I think it works out at about 6% extra force required at the wheel over a 300, which didn't sound too bad. And I spoke to a few people with that size wheel and they said it was ok.
One thing to watch out for though, that particular wheel is off-centre, to give more leg room. Didn't realise until I got it home.

I run a 260mm formula type Momo with a 2.4 rack. Never a problem except it is a little hardwork parking (lock to lock) apart from that it is fine.

I have replaced my standard Westfield wheel and fitted a 290 flat bottomed Suede MOMO to my Westy and it is great. Gives a little bit more room between the door, no noticeable difference in effort to drive just take a bit of time to get used to the flat bit. I have a removable boss but no need to remove the wheel to get in or out. I bought it from RallyNuts as they were the cheapest

Take into account thetroupe of steering rack you have as feels a bit strange feeding a wheel with a flat bottom with a normal rack (the setup I have) as opposed to a quick rack ,my own experience of course.
I'm currently running a OMP swede flat bottom wheel 320mm dia I believe

I'm running a 290mm Momo and I'd say it was just about perfect in my Fisher Fury R1. Any smaller and viewing instruments through it could be an issue.
