French Alp road trip
Discussion
I was there for the last week of the season at the end of April'11. I did wish I had the Fury with me on a couple of days; Blatting up and down the mountain would have been preferable to the afternoon slush fest.
The road up to ValT should be clear as long as there's not a dump on the day you arrive, but remember, carrying snow chains is a legal requirement in winter on the road up. If you do get unlucky with a dump of snow and don't have them, the police will not be friendly... and a kit car, in the snow, up a mountain pass isn't fun; Been there done that!
Is it worth it? The rest of the roads there and back aren't that exciting. Many of the passes will still be closed so not a lot of choice if detour on the way.

When I get home I will try and post up a picture of me, AdiT and several other Sylva kitcars slithering around in a blizzard up on the Swiss Grimselpass. We had to abandon, turn back and take refuge in an avalanche tunnel.. Oh, and it was mid-June....
"We had to abandon"...? I thought we turned back 'cos you bottled it.
I've no pictures of the conditions that stopped us (too busy keeping the blizzard from building a snowdrift in the car) but here's a couple of before and after shots.
Can't see any reason not to carry on...

Any port in a storm...
