6000pound buys a spot-on striker!!!!
time will bring one. dont set yourselves under pressure buying a car immediately.
also dont forget: its a buyers market (not only caused by the winter season)...if something is advertized at 8k...you might get it for 6k.
look at those 2 strikers and their prices...

therefore i would not pay more than 3.5k for that orange locost.

thanks for your feedback comandis, remind me to come and give my opinion next time your making a sale.
and it's orange and black ;-)
its a Premade race recognised "locost" chassis
the engine itself is from a AE86 RWD and therefore the sort after variety, mated to a genuine toyota RWD gearbox not the usual type 9 conversion
the weber alpha ignition system, carbs is worth £1000+ on there own
The AE86 engines go for over £1000
the wilwood Brakes setup is £400
The full cage setup is an additional custom fabrication @£450+ (not the usual; homeadapted system)
Caterham instrument packs running £350+
R888 tyres are recognised as a perfect setup on the Stuart taylor (now trading as Aries motorsport)another £400
so i've already listed £3600 of gear and barely touched the list, not to mention this is road legal and NOT a Q plate
the first striker you listed has a xflow bored to 1700, which may make the same BHP but istn't as stable and reliable (i know my last engine was one)
BUT everyone is welcome to there opinion
happy days

the cars value is not the value of the parts added together.
if, e.g. you buy willwood calipers, unpacking will already "reduce" the value at 25%, fitting them to a car, test drive them...even they are virtually new, the price (if you would try to sell them) will be around 60% of the new ones.
thats only an example.
its the complete package which finally makes the value of the car. you can install first class parts in a , lets say a robin hood, but it still remains a robin. so a cars value does not increase in the same amount as the price of the parts fitted.
e.g.: weber alpha is one of the most expensivst way to do the fueling or ignition...and you finally have an ECU where you dont have any software access yourselves. i had a weber alpha ingition systm in a car with a vauxhall xe engine. the original factory programming was denfinately wrong (i finally found somebody who had software acces to the ECU, where we could check all parameters), the engine was running poor, the support of webcon was unfriendly und unprofessional. only as an example.
back to the original thread:
I would try to get this car down to 6k (as its advertized since nearly a year it should be possible):

This looks a good buy, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tiger-Avon-1800-DOHC-Zet...
Like I said comandis your entitled to your opinion even if it's wrong my valuation of my car is what it is if you don't agree thats fine my problem is distributing my attempt to sell.
Let's say I walk into your business and take a sale awy from you how are you goning to feel?
Annoyed I'd imagine.

most important thing is to buy a car to a "honest" price, not the overvalued "theoretic" prices most owners try to achieve...but finally struggle to sell in short term...or, if finally sold, the next owner feels ripped-off after a short ownership.
buying a car at its "real" value, makes it possible to invest further money and still being able to sell the car in the future without making any loss!!!!
thats how i do it...and i never made any loss...and non of the owners after me had felt ripped-off. with most of them i still stay in contact.
the tigers value looks not too bad on first view...and the price is "ONO"
but: "Rev counter is Honda with shift light."
thats a total lie...its a cheapish ebay rev-counter...and such statements may indicate that perhaps certain other infos may not be true? so where is the original rev-counter in tigers design?
e.g.: " The seller I purchased the car from said all the car was constructed from new parts apart from the engine, gearbox, and diff which where reconditioned units .I do not doubt his word as I have not had any trouble with the car and the car still looks as when I purchased it."
so i would doubt any statement which is given by the acutal seller, which he was given by the former seller...
but this will make a good base to make the actual seller unsecure about his cars description and thereofre drastically negotiate about the price!!!
here a sylva with VW 16V engine:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1999-SYLVA-RAW-STRIKER-K...
as its sold by a dealer, also the price is not too bad, you should get a similar one from a private seller for 1k less.
