J C Midge plans ?
Discussion
Anyone got a set of JC Midge plans ?
I've already a set (free from a magazine maybe 20+ years ago !) of the actual drawings but it's the build instructions I don't have so a link to them on-line, pdf copy etc grateful.
Thanks.

BTW I'm thinking of building on an Austin A40 Devon, Ford 103E or similar chassis ie in style of traditional 1950's special rather than a Herald item.

That's an ancient kit.
Be very carefull with SVA.
As long as the donor chassis and running gear is 100% original then DVLA class it as a rebody so no BIVA required - just an inspection.Be very carefull with SVA.
The design was intended for a Herald chassis and because it needs outriggers, bumper mounts etc cutting off then it's a modified item and of course a test then due hence now "out of favour" (even on the later chassis taking Ford components) as no way would it pass.
I've always wanted to build a traditional 1950's special. A couple of years ago I bought an Austin Ruby chassis but found it a little too small for my body size and disabilities hence this time going for a larger base. Rather than starting from scratch with my own design, seeing the Midge already is the style I like, the intention is to adapt that to fit.
I'm not 100% happy with the alloy clad ply construction so want to play with making a mock up out of either shuttering ply or OSB to get the shape and then probably consider trational ash frame instead.
At the moment my health isn't too good and I can't do much therefore this is just a mental exercise that I am dreaming / playing with at present. I've already got an Austin Sprite (one of the still 82 remaining in the world after agreement with Healey finished) and can't get into that very easily so making a mock up is essential to double check I can get in and out
