I have recently pulled out my dash from my Jago Geep, and am currently sanding it down, filling holes and cutting a few more!

At the moment I dont have a head unit in there as space is so tight behind the dash!

I was wondering if there was a device that I could put behind my dash, and have a lead coming from it which would then attach to my iPhone...?

Theres about 100mm depth behind the dash, which surely will be enough to hold a device like this, if there is one?

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

i didn't have room for a head unit so got an amp and pluged it straight into i pod, going from head phone socket so you have volume control, works fine

Just a normal car amp?

I was hoping for something a bit smaller that I could leave hidden behind the dash as the car has no roof or doors! Dont fancy leaving the Geep in a car park with an amp on show unprotected!

Always a last option though I guess should nothing else be available!

i got a four corner fusion kit, had amp speakers, everything, hid the amp behind seat in mine which isn't really an option for you, could you fit it either under a seat or in the boot area / even the foot well with lexan over it to protect it / stop it being nicked

You can get pretty small amps you know.

Get an amp, put it in the boot safely out of harms way.

Connect one of these to it

Bluetooth music receiver

Just get a holder/dock in the front and take your iphone with you when you get out.

Whaddya reckon?

Think that could be the answer then.

I'l have to try and hide the amp somewhere, but security isnt really up to much as seeing as theres no doors, roof boot etc!

I have a rear Mini Clubman bench seat which will be going in the back soon, so guess I will have to try and hide it under there somewhere!

Would this affect the signal of the bluetooth reciever if it were boxed in under the seat?

Thanks for the help guys smile

like i said, put it under spome lexan that is fastened down well, will look good & should be secure as you won't be able to get to it without a toolkit, if blue tooth doesn't work , just run wires

Just been looking into this a bit more, and I had a thought...

Isn't the above device 240v?

If so would that mean I need a power inverter in my car too?

you can get 12v versions. even the 240v ones use a ac/dc convertor to drop it to 6-12v dc.

I'm about to install one of these;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Motorcycle-12V-Mini-...

I know a few guys that use them, perfect for ipods etc, plug in, fit a couple of speakers job done.

Hey Davey, cheers for the heads up!

Have you heard one of them being used? Probably worth a punt for a tenner though!
