kit cars and e-marked glass
Discussion
hi all IVA related query
new on here and after trying other forums thought I'd give this one a go.
I'm building a Ferrari replica and need some side glass made. From reading online
material any glass fitted must be e-marked,but I can find nobody able to do this.
most can cut the glass and temper it then etch with british kitemark and british
standards numbers but it seems this is no longer acceptable for iva. any suggestions
or help would be appreciated.
thanks ian

Ian, I assume that the glasses that you require will be flat. If so there are a couple of companies that will produce small quantities, even singles, with an E mark. You need to allow up to four weeks and expect to pay a reasonable sum, perhaps between £50 and £100 per unit depending on size and tint. For this you should end up with the edgework to a high standard and the E mark the right way round and in the position that you want. The quality of the patterns is all important.
struggled with this one myself, ended up using lexan with a special coating, only place in the country that can supply it with correct markings is
