Does anyone know of a workshop in Manchester (pref south Manchester) who specialises, or is happy to work on, the maintenance and improvements of Kit car mechanics.
I have a Pilgrim Haldane AH 3000 which shakes and rattles and could do with a good going over by an interested mechanic.

Also, is there anyone in Manchester who could manufacture a new fabric hood?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

There is chester sports cars. These guys are a Tiger dealer, but i'm sure they have worked on other kit cars too and im sure they are well acquainted with making kit cars feel and sound as good as they are to drive!

Thanks for the replies.
I'm a total novice at this and am not confident enough in my mechanical abilities!
I've looked at the Website of Cheshire Sports Cars, and they seem to be the ideal kind of place I'm looking for....except for their location on the other side of Chester.
Anyone know anywhere a little nearer?
If not it will have to be a trip to Chester!
Thanks

What counts as a good going over? I'm based Stockport centre just South of Manchester I can have a look before you make a longer trip if you like.

HI, that's a very kind offer. I live in Chorlton so is not a million miles away from Stockport.
The car looks great, bodywork is fibreglass and immaculate but it shakes and rattles....but that could be normal for all I know!. It passed it's MOT on Monday, went out in it on Tuesday and blow me, it's developed a noise, as though something is scraping somewhere underneath, but only at speeds above say 10mph.
I had a look as best I could but nothing obvious. Can't get it back into my usual garage until Monday.

But if I may, I would like to take you up on your offer, when I find out what the scraping is, I daren't risk driving it too far until then.

By the way, this is additional to my original purpose of finding somewhere to have it 'improved'!

I just wondered if you'd thought of posting on the Pilgrim forum http://www.pilgrim-cars.com/ ? I think there may be one or 2 Haldane / 3000 owners living not too far from you who may be able to help/advise - I live in Dorset (with a Pilgrim 3000) so not too local! Have you seen this: http://www.haldane100.com/ ?

Hi RJ - thought I'd seen a Haldane driving down Edge Lane a few weeks ago!

I have a Haldane and am near Chorlton. Cross street garage in Sale often have kit & specialist cars in for work. Edgerton road garage in Chorlton seem to have some motorsport background and I've found them very good for general servicing on my regular cars.

Happy to meet up or have a chat if you want to PM me.
