Finally finalised the positions and fixed down the electrics on my current build (MEV Exocet). It starts ok but ive noticed that one of the fixings (metal P clip) holding a copper brake line to the frame (rear of engine bay) produces a spark before the engine fires. Why is this happening and what would be the solution?

I'd say you have a positive potential on that brake line. Is it touching something it shouldn't be somewhere??

That's worth checking. A lot of current during cranking, but I'm surprised the brake lines are involved.

Surely a metal P clip will have a rubber sleeve between it and the brake line (otherwise it'll be an IVA fail)?
