Hi, I am looking to replace the airfilter on my STM Fireblade Phoneix.

It looks just like a Pipercross with two tabs on top edge and 3 deutz fasteners to the lower side. The dimensions are 370mm x 130mm x about 60mm high. The filter is slightly pented to one side.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Thanks

An answer to my own query.

I called Pipercross and it seems that what might appear to be a width if 130mm is in fact 170mm as they measure to the outside of the tabs and flanges, despite the diagram on their website looking as though they mean the smaller dimension.

So mine is a standard 500 series C502D.

I had a similar one on my Fury Fireblade, but it was a TTS one. They are based near Silverstone, they could probobly sell you a new one

I must say, that 898 blade sucking through that foam filter at 11,000 rpm was absolute music!

Ah! you have answered my other question, as mine was Dynojetted by TTS, but when I looked at their website it seemed they have changed a lot and are now Hyabussa oriented.

Sadly it is the noise that has become a huge issue for me in France as some circuits are now as low as 90db. I have had a bonnet scoop made to try to reduce induction noise as well as a 150mm ABP silencer. But somehow I think that it will have to go.

I lost around 9db by making an airbox. Had a sausage filter on the Hayabusa and the induction noise, (although wonderful!!), was just to much. Have dropped below 98 now by fitting the box.

Excellent, I'm not a million miles away from needing a new one; my current one is losing some foam.

Ebay link looks just the ticket, cheers! smile
