We all, well I do, have an idea or ideas for cars we would like to build or have built. These could be complete cars or just change to one already out there. They could be simply fitting a different engine, or a ground up one off.

A few could be great ideas that spark something great, other's just dreams, most never will get build. A few may just need a little help, well ask here and someone out there may have the answer for you.

I will post a few of my ideas later.... I have a few that fit the Dreams, Schemes and never will be, most are never will Be's.

I've always quite fancied a Lamborghini Miura. If Hawk want to build one and then if I can then magic thousands of pounds out of thin air then I'd be game!

When I hit 45, I realised it would never happen, and then I went around to a bloke's house I met through work, to buy some mx5 wings and daisy wheels, and found he was breaking the MX5 to build an exocet. Hum. I wonder.

No you have not yet.

First a question what would you do with a Norton rotory motorbike (about 500-600cc) engine? Simple put it in a G-Wiz. Replacing the electric motors add both range and speed. He has not yet finished and has asked me not to post any photos as he want to keep it very Q-car. Just look out for it around New Cross, it currently a green, but his daught want it yellow.

I believe there was a Kit/conversion offered a few years back. This use Jaguar part, unclear as to which. The XK180 (never call F-type) used XKR floor plan.

I have seen this car in the metal and loved it classic Jaguar looks. Sad the new F type is not based on this.

The one that you are referring to is a XK180 replica.
It was the predecessor of the F-type concept about 2 years earlier.
To my knowledge the F-type was never offered as a replica.

I have MANY kitcar builds in my head, but one which is probobly most realistic is a Sylva R1ot with a big Ducati lump in the back, bright silver chassis components, carbon fibre paneling, wheel arches and seats with Ducati red bodywork and White graphics on the side. Automotive porn! And I would drive it straight after IVA around Italy. I have been told many times that a Ducati lump will not work in a car, unrealisable etc but I don't care.

fuoriserie post these interesting links to very different way to build a monocoque chassis and body for a one off.

http://autospeed.com/cms/A_110990/article.html

The car itself is also interesting.

Below is the California commuter, 155mpg on the open road in the 1980

Now if we start from a design like this used in Shell Eco marathon

We must be able to better that. Built using the about system as a road car it could be used as commuter car or fitted with a bigger engine as a racer! Hill climbing, sprinting or just at track days to shock and embarrass others.

If you want a Mura there's great Idea i had when I saw a Chevy Monti Carlo last year... It had a Transverse mounted V8 LS motor in it.... I always thought they where RWD but was shocked to find out they where front WD...

Perfect engine configuration for a Mura was my first though.....

Interesting that someone posted the F-Type concept as that was the closest thing to what I had in mind. Less doors of course and mid bike engined.

This was the photo mock-up for my 400Kg project:

My photo tweaking skills were not up to removing the side windows :-(

I've always felt that to get close enough to the original it would require just too many bespoke parts...
