Would a kind Se7en owner/builder take a picture for me...?
Discussion
Hi there,
I'm having loose thoughts of a new nosecone design for a Se7en type. Would any owner, perhaps someone most of the way through a build or rebuild, be able to take a couple of pictures for me? I've had a look online at the many build diaries, but it's hard to find shots of cars with body panels removed which have completed internals. People are obviously keen to get the body on as soon as possible!
I'm looking for a couple of shots with the nosecone piece off - it should be a car that is complete mechanically (at least at the front end) as I need to check my design wouldn't have clearance issues. If possible, I'd really like some shots with the bonnet on and some with it off. Lights may or may not be present - it would be useful to see both but I appreciate that may be asking too much.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the post but not many of those pictures are all that useful... I need clear shots of the front end, sans nosecone but with all running gear fitted such as the radiator, preferably from one or two different angles. It'd also be useful to know what the car actually is ie Westfield, Caterham, MK etc.

Have a look at the owners' clubs websites for meetings that would be local to you. Get yourself along and explain what you are trying to do. I'm sure many owners wold be very happy to take nosecones off and talk you through the bits and pieces while you take photos.OwenK said:

Are you planning a 'universal' nose cone?FlossyThePig said:

My apologies! I was under the impression it was a catch-all term for all Lotus Seven-type cars. You must agree that the term is used referring to Lotus-alikes far more widely than it is Minis, though?Paul Drawmer said:

Not a universal nose as such, no. I was pondering whether a slightly different nose that would give the Seven a different aesthetic would be feasible (I've always loved the idea of Sevens but something about the "look" of the thing just doesn't do it for me - though I appreciate that's not the point of the car!). More details if anything comes of it.Personally I thought Se7en was that film with Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt
, I'd say the general term for a 7 type car or kit was a Caterfield.
Are there any suitable pictures in the Haynes kit car book? http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...

morris mini, austin seven, or austin mini. Not Austin Mini seven. The first austin seven was produced in 1922. It was rear wheel drive.
The generic terms I've heard are Sevenesque/7esque, LSIS and, simply, Seven. Caterfield I associate with those two companies, being the more 'premium' brands in the sector. I think Seven has extended beyond the model to describe the style of the car (although I'm sure Caterham don't like it).
