LAMBORGHINI MIURA
Discussion
Hi everyone, this is my first post on here so excuse my ignorance.I was thinking about getting a Lamborghini miura replica.I know very little of any previous kits but from what Ive seen they always seem to not be quite like the original (visually anyway).I am after 100% accurate body,wheelbase/track and interior, with a compromise on the chassis engine and wheels. Is this possible and if not why.regards Roberto
I've got a Miura replica of Prova designs that is in no hurry of being built as a track day car or road car. The body is very accurate and probable nobody really knows the real deal to see detail faults that can be made.
Good engine option is an Audi V6. Eg. S4-engine does fit linked to Audi A6 gearbox.
The chassis need some work for wish-bones and engine etc. It's a classic kitcar not like Westfield. So engineering skills are required.

This one is located in Netherlands. The original windscreen is included and does fit.
Interested mail me at theo_nr1@yahoo.com

Yes, I saw the same car. See picture, but I haven’t heard anything since. The idea does sound very interesting, but when you stop and consider every aspect of a 100% accurate replica (even without the transverse V12) it will become apparent that it’s incredibly difficult and expensive I’m afraid.(You’ll notice the headlights aren’t right and the Cobra seat)

Things like 100% accurate windscreens, side glass with wind-down mechanism, door handles, lights, trim items, door seals and cards. And let’s not forget that lovely interior, with its shaped pods, hand stitched leather, Lamborghini clocks etc.
This is where attention to detail matters, and if not done correctly then the end result will be obvious as a poor copy. The cost of developing these items for the manufacturer’s point of view is what usually ends the project, or they may just leave these problems for the builder to solve, which usually can’t be. Whichever, undertaking such a replica and getting it right, is going to be extremely labour intensive.
I’d say do your research, and when you’ve found something of interest, do your research again! Hope this link helps: www.paralleldesigns.co.uk
Good luck, I hope you succeed.

I fancied one before I bought the P4 but you'll find there is no replica even close to proper Miura shape. When you look at the Prova against the real thing it's hugely different - side profile is way too tall (look at the height above front arches, depth of doors etc.), wheel offsets all wrong and can't be fixed (I investigated). One of the best UK Provas belongs to a guy called Graham on Lamboreplica.co.uk - loads of genuine bits on it. He was offering it for sale tentatively at the time but this was 4 years ago...I believe it now has TVR V8 powerplant.
The absolute best Prova Miura is in the states strangely enough and sat astride a Pontiac Fiero with hoofing great V8 power. The build thread is absolutely amazing and well worth a read the build spanned 4 years!!!

The only built Miura I know of for sale in UK is the earlier Cheetah version @ £20k in Total Headturners. http://totalheadturners.com/details.php?Id=426

which was bought for 6k, than offered for 30k and now the price dropped to 19k.the car was already discussed here (page 2):
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
i´ve now checked the pictures of the car again: silver painted brake-servo, surplus the first 20mm of the master cylinder have been also painted, incl. the fixing bolts...what a botch!!!
I've seen that TH Miura in the flesh and it's actually quite stunning - proper eyeful in that colour and must've been been expensive drop of paint - no sign of any peel.
Whatever he paid for it, it's the only one available out there. I paid £16k for my P4 a few years ago - it's now changing hands for 30/40k!!

i agree, that color choice looks stunning.....but even there is "only" 1 availbale makes it not expensive or rare, because its a kitcar, not an original Lambo!!!
and the most annoying thing is that drivetrain!!
a miuara with a asthmatic 2.6(!!!) ford cologne engine, those front wishbones...everything...
if somebody buys it for show, only..he might get lucky...but if somebody is buying it for "real" driving he will be disapointed.
and who buys something for show, where he has to invest 19k??
and not to forget: its on a Q-Plate!!!!

the only one i know of was the prova replica which i believe is now owned by parrallel designs, who seam to have gone very quite lately.
saw a body at stoneleigh a few years ago that they had, not seen it since
Parrallel hasn't finish a muria yet!! and moved out of there premises in a 'moonlight flit' style. No forwarding address and owes customers parts and money(being talked about on lamboreplica.co.uk), about £15k I beleive! To be fair it's not a bad thing they are out of business as customers are complaining that there wishbones keep snapping and the door hinges sieze up, not to mention the big door gaps letting in water.saw a body at stoneleigh a few years ago that they had, not seen it since
The LS3 V8 engined Miura replica further up that took 4 years to build is unexpectadly up for sale as sadly the owner has passed away:

Awesome piece of kit and must be the best made to date - looking at £60k to buy it but bare in mind original prices and the build quality on this...
