My battery gets hot as its exposed in the engine bay. When its hot it wont turn the engine over. Does anyone know of a source of aluminium insulation wrapping that I can use to protect the battery frrom the heat? Cheers

Seems expensive! I'm sure you could use the blanket available from the likes of CBS or even a fire extingisher blanket.

As said the heat matt from CBS is good value.

Also double check it is the battery at fault. Starter motors also suffer the same problems and often require similar heat protection.

Thanks. I just found the CBS site, I'll see what they have.

Also I can jump start the car fine when hot so its seems more likely to be the battery. I'll get sme heat mat and a new battery ordered.

Just fitted the new battery and wrapped the battery box in CBS heat mat. I'll trickle charge it tonight and run it out tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
