Evening,

I'm trying to remember the name of a certain kit car. I think it was made by GTM in the late 80's/early 90's. Like a sort of 'shed made' Lotus Esprit or maybe a British take on an MR2. It might no0t have been GTM though, anyone remember what it was called?

No, not the Libra. It was a very angular 'wedge' shape.

It may also have had some sort of alpha-numeric name that would make it hard to remember...

That is the one! Thanks so much!

I ask because I currently run an Audi A8 4.2 Quattro, which is a superb commuting and family holiday car, but I would also like something to tinker on for fun, as well as providing a sporty drive quality. I live out in rural Northumberland, and I have loads of great driving roads on my doorstep so I feel I should take advantage of that, I love mid-engined cars for fun. Someone in my village even has a GTM Libra, albeit it never seems to be on the road!

This Ginetta would be the holy-grail of kit cars for me to try...

EDIT: Referring to the G32.

They pop up now and again on ebay, often think of selling mine but midway through its rebuild would mean I'd loose too much.
Should be good fun when its done, brand new 2litre zetec on jenveys with adjustable suspension including trailing arms :-)

What sort of price does a good one go for? Ideally I'd get one and eventually upgrade it with a turbo powered engine. Sort of like my old MR2 Turbo...nuts

IMO just get a decent Mk1 MR2 then whack a turbo/V6 in there. More available, cheaper, better parts availability.

G32's are around the 3.5k point so a bit of a steal at the moment. Watch out for rusty chassis's on the non galvanised ones and running gear is Ford CHV / Turbo /Fiest doors and dash, so no spares issues there.
