I bought this last year from the insurance company as I wanted the engine and gearbox which I have kept. The rest has been broken up and already sold off so sorry no parts are for sale.
What I would like to know is if anyone on here recognises the car or even better used to own it as I would like to know what spec the engine is and what work has been done.
It is a Ford 302 V8 with aluminium heads, Demon 4 barrel carb, electric water pump, MSD electronic ignition etc etc.
I am sure someone must remember this, it was on a 1965 C registration plate and appeared to be built to a very nice standard, I understand that the insurance company paid out some serious money on it.
Any leads on this would be much appreciated.

That roll cage wasn't much help was it. Was there no brace to the rear? Did they live?

Try posting on gt40s.com. Someone there may know of it.

This is exactly the reason I have not ordered a front cage in mine, there have been serious injurys because of them...

confused The car referred to in that thread is a Caterham Seven?

It's a fair warning to those who daren't step into a 'Seven' unless it has a full cage, however - under some circumstances they can be far more dangerous than a simple braced rollover bar. frown
You are indeed correct.

My mistake.

I do not know the history of this which is why I was asking if anyone recognised it.
I think the cage may have saved the drivers life, here are a couple more pictures, it must have hit something quite solid.

It was a 6 point mounting cage but there were no braces down to the rear chassis, only to the rear bulkhead which is why the whole lot shifted back.

Those circumstances being a poorly designed roll cage - as is evident in this case.
