Horn button and IVA

Would there be an issue fitting a rocker switch, one which you have to switch on and off rather than the usual self returning (momentary) to act as the horn control?
In the IVA (and mot) manual it states that the horn must produce a continuous note with no mention of the type of control that can be used.
The only reason i ask is that my steering wheel horn button doesnt work so to save on spending even more on this build i have a spare rocker switch that is surplus and it will match all my other switches.

I had a similar problem on the Fury. I used the Sierra indicator stalk, but there's no horn switch. I didn't want one on the steering wheel. I found that the end of the indicator stalk is a (very) close fitting cap, pushed it out (from the inside) drilled a hole in the cap, fitted a tiny (about 5mm dia) momentary switch from Maplin for about £1.50 & pushed the cap back in. The wires run through the hollow stalk to where it goes chanel section, so there's conduit glued in there & it works & looks superb. Could you do something similar?
Im using an mx5 donor so havent got the horn in the stalk unfortunately. But ive spent the morning in the garage and the conclusion is the relay is buggered. I wired in a new circuit to the steering wheel horn button, keeping it simple with no relay, and it worked!
So......ive decided to do away with the steering wheel button and wire in a momentary switch next to my other switches on the transmission tunnel.

Why not replace the broken relay - job's a good-un?

Numerous reasons. The clock spring has snapped, the horn contact disc doesnt sit properly/securely, the relay is buggered, less hassle (when taken into account the issues) and it now gives me a reason to have another shiny button next to my other shiny buttons. Why not replace the broken relay - job's a good-un?
