Westfield heater
Discussion
Just after some advice if anyone can help.
below is a picture of my westie and the more egal eyed viewer might notice that there is no heater matrix or blower.

the hole is in the bilkhead as you can see. the ducting is behind the dash and the slits cut under the windscreen. there is also the fan control switch in the dash. all in all it looks like there has been a heater etc... here in the past. the picture below shows the unit I am missing.

if possible could someone aid me in the direction of this unit? there are a few knocking about on the net but all seem to be wrong.

I really wouldn't bother. The heater will do a good job of roasting your legs (even more so than the engine and gearbox already do so) whilst leaving the rest of you cold.
They also make the cooling system a real b
h to bleed and fill because the become the highest point of the system. And then theres the weight.

I now have 2 short circuit loops and then a single larger loop around the radiator. works a treat and sustains 80+ degrees even when zero degrees outside.
the bleeding wouldn't be an issue for mine as the header tank is the highest plus I can fit an inline bleed.
I have already done all the work on my dads, and it works a treat, but his has the heater matrix under the dash.
plus if you fit a heater control valve then you can shut it off in the summer.

i'll go down to the garage and take a few pics.
if you have the standard cooling setup as mine did then the engine simply wouldn't get warm enough to give any hot air. mine previously struggled to get to 60 degrees C. now it sits at 80+ all day, which will produce warm air from the vents.
my dads is re plumbed like mine and his heater works a treat.

Only had the car for a few weeks, so been putting my touches to it.
the top hose in the picture has a small piece of pipe on it. in the other end of this pipe is a blank.
the hose that was connected here from the back of the engine now goes in to a new pipe underneath.

new 15mm copper pipe sprayed black.

new pipe at sandwiched in the middle of the other pipes, the rubber hose is to keep from rubbing/rattling.

the pic below shows the new hose changing direction and dropping down to the bottom hose. I simply tig welded a new piece of 15mm pipe to the existing ally bottom hose.

its a really simple mod, but the result is that the engine gets hot before any water travels to the radiator. this is also better for the engine as its designed to run at around 90 degrees and not 50 haha. silly billies at westfield.
p.s. this is a proven mod that works on the track without overheating

these are the slots in the bulkhead behind the window.

it might be hard to tell whats happening here but, there is a fibreglass double skin behind the slots in the top of the bulk head. and at each end of the "trough" there is a pipe from the heater.
the pic below is the blower nozzle from the passenger side of the car. the pipe on the right of the two goes up to a fitting in the "trough" there is a similar setup on the other side, only the nozzle is different due to the steering column location.

its just not practicle for me to have an areo screen.
typical though of a forum, i've asked for help locating a heater matrix, and instead i've been told not to bother, and then to remove the windscreen. then end up giving others advice instead.
what is the point of asking for help, when instead of helping, people just comment back with useless s
t? simple if you don't know the answer don't comment!

Take a chill pill...typical though of a forum, i've asked for help locating a heater matrix, and instead i've been told not to bother, and then to remove the windscreen. then end up giving others advice instead.

Westfield sell the heater, you are only going to get one from them or a second hand one from eBay, anything else and you'll be on your own as to whether it fits.
