its some years ago where i owned a kitcar with a pinto engine and a T9 gearbox. speedometer was a modern (electronic) type.

the gearbox had a mechanical speedo drive, a (mechanical) speedo-cable was routed through the enginebay ending near the firewall.

an electronic pick-up (inductive i guess?) was mounted at the end of the cable.

it was definately nothing home- or selfmade.

any ideas which webshop is listing such a part?

Not exactly what you are looking for as screws directly into gearbox, I use this on my Indy with a T9 gearbox and Smiths electronic speedo and it works fine:

My TVR 400SE had one, it never went wrong so I don't know where to get one, however it might be worth asking on the wedge forum to see if anyone knows.

thats also a nice solution, but limited to specific gearbox(es) from ford, actually i use a (non-ford) T5 box.

the other idea (at the end of the cable) was an universal solution.

The Koso digigdash that I have bought uses just such a gizmo, I presume that it would work with other clocks, not just a koso.

do you have a link to a webpage where this part could be watched?

There is a similar pick up head (as shown in the 2nd link above) that can be fitted at the top of your speedo cable.

Mine came in a kit with two brass solder in square drives and an alloy tube to adapt onto the original veh cable. It can be used on any cable pattern.

I think it came from MERLIN and was ideal for the electronic vdo speedometer.

This pick up can also be used for adding a halda electronic drive for timing equipment and running a mechanical speedometer at the same time or a mechanical halda and electronic speedometer.
