Hi

Does anyone have any old articles on Sylva Strikers / Raw Strikers or Sylva Riot /J16's and would be prepared to scan and email to me... please!

For well over 30 years I have had the desire to build a kit car however have neither had the time or money. I've just put in for early retirement and the kids have grown up. It's my time now!

I have always admired Jeremy Philips work and it is more than likely I'll build one of his designs / kits. I'd be interested in hearing opinions from anyone how has built either a Striker or Riot.

My initial thoughts are to build a 1.7 Zetec powered Riot.

Like I say if you have any articles that you could email me I'd really appreciate it.

Hi Simon,

http://www.hoverd.org/Tim/

I hope I have attached the link correctly, Tim Hoverds J15 build and modifications, you will need to look backwards a couple of years to the start of the build but it does give a very good account of the whole build (in between the racing which you can pick through)

Regards
Heather

May want to have a word with Jeremy, it has been reported in the press that he is about to release a single donor J15 based on a MGF, so with a VVC engine and loads of donor bits that should make for a pretty interesting and economic project.

Having built a Fury I can agree with your sentiments about the Philips stable.

Thanks for that snippet of info... very interesting. There are plenty of options with the K series engines. I will give Jeremy a call and see what I can find out.

There will be some info on my Mojo build website that is relevant to a Riot: www.mymojo.co.uk

Can highly recommend building a Sylva :-)

The Mojo is still available, has gone a bit quiet in recent years but am told the new owners are going to start marketing it a bit more actively again this year...

you will not go wrong with anything from the Philips stable, built and raced a couple of strikers!!the handling is excellent.Presently have a westfield but if I were to return to racing I would buy a striker or similar Philips designed car...(my westy is only used for touring)

The J15 looks amazing,if it had doors windscreen and weather gear,I would sell my westfield and be knocking on Jeremy Philips door!!

good luck with your build.

Jeremy´s own red J15 was for sale some time ago...so if you want something ready for driving away give him a ring.

There was also a page of info in the news section of Complete Kit Car mag Feb issue, looks very similar info so probably a copy of a press release from Sylva. Looks interesting - VVC + Emerald ecu plus a bigger throttle body and decent exhaust = 170 hp fun.
